It was a complete privilege and a pleasure to have Lance on board with us for Dear Evan Hansen. His taste is impeccable, his visual sensibilities are so very sharp, and his tireless efforts to develop each character is remarkable. He elevated each of our sets with his talents, and he brightened the workplace with his upbeat spirit and unbeatable sense of humor. His crew is also one of the strongest I’ve ever worked with. I couldn’t recommend Lance and his incredible team more strongly!

Production Designer: "Jackpot"
Jefferson Sage
It was my great pleasure to work with Lance Totten on the film JACKPOT. He is the consummate Set Decorator: resourceful, affable, inquisitive, always professional and prepared, upbeat and energetic, and - very important - just plain funny --. He brings original ideas to the table, and works hard to capture the nuance of visual story-telling in his work. Our design meetings were rewarding deep-dives into the script and the research, as we discussed character, world-building, comedy, and (in this case --) ever-present action --. He is highly experienced with the nuts and bolts of film-making and he delivers attractive, finished sets on time and on budget, with a minimum of drama --. Unsurprisingly, Lance comes with a hard-working, first-rate team, likewise notable for their professionalism and dedication to the project, as well as unfailing good humor --. I look forward to working with Lance again, hopefully in the very near future --!

Several decades ago, I was starting my career in Atlanta designing for features and television and I was looking for a decorator to help with my vision. I was given the name of an eager set dresser who wanted to move up. Back then, our budgets needed creativity(IYKYK), so I gave Lance his first decorator job. He approached this new position with the same energy I had, which was serving the script and details with personal experience and authenticity. We loved to shop together and really hone in on the story being told through the wonderful layers he brought to our environments. I have always maintained that all creativity is collaborative. Lance has become one of the top creative collaborators in the business, and a true friend.

Production Designer: "The In Between"
Jeannine Oppewall
Working with Lance was a real pleasure. He was tireless. He had an intelligent, experienced and responsive crew backing him up. Lance knew the difference between an object that helps tell the story and an object that is just a place holder. And, best of all, he had a great sense of humor, which helped everyone power through the inevitable moments of chaos and craziness that arise on every project.

I have had the pleasure to know and to work with Lance Totten for over 20 years. First, as a fellow crew member and as of recently, a supplying vendor to the various projects that Lance has been decorating. Lance and his crew epitomize professionalism. His orders are arranged well in advance of the pick-up date, his crew is always courteous and very careful with the artwork and his office staff is on point with paperwork, deposits and payments. To sum it up, Lance ROCKS!! I would (and have) recommend him for any project!Lance is a true professional. Owner Georgia Film Art
Maria Nay
As a 35 year decorator and member of the Academies, I spend a great deal of time watching television shows and movies. I can always tell, and really enjoy, whenever I see Lance’s work. His attention to detail is spot-on. He creates layers that enhance the story visually and adds personality to every set, no matter the budget or scheduling constraints. I have also noticed that Lance is proficient at multiple time-periods and always on-point historically. It takes a genuine talent to implement period research and create historical accuracy from it.
I am also the owner of Georgia Film Art, a cleared art rental prop house in Atlanta. For the 14 years we have been in business, Lance and his crew are some of the best we’ve worked with. They always know exactly what they want and when they need it. They pick up and return on time, process paperwork promptly, and never have any L&D when the art is returned. I think the fact that they have worked together for so long speaks to what a well-oiled department they have built under Lance’s leadership. I hope we can continue to work together for a very long time.

Atlanta Set Dressing Vendor and Private Collector
Robert Gerwig
Lance started as a Set Dresser picking up rentals at my prop house many years ago. It has been a pleasure to work with him and his crew over the years. I have seen him grow rapidly from an inexperienced Buyer into a very competent Set Decorator, particularly on the period projects. He is both very down to earth and also extremely skilled in selecting what he needs to decorate the sets appropriately.

"Lance is one of my favorite decorators in the business, hands down. Great work, and knowledge base, followed up with one of the best attitudes anywhere. He has collaborated on two projects with me, and I'd do it again in a second. You'd be lucky to have him on your team. Do it!"

Production Designer:
Being Mary Jane Season 1

Lance is a consummate Decorator. He is focused on portraying the character as well as successfully managing the logistics and budget of his department. Lance does this with a low maintenance approach and pleasant attitude. Lance is one of my first calls per availability. I intend to work with him in the future.

"...I've had the privilege of working with the best creative minds the world has to offer, which to my delight, includes Lance Totten. Hands down, he is the best Decorator I've ever worked with. In addition to his "bigger than life" talent, his wonderfully outgoing personality captures your attention from the start and eventually captures your heart, admiration and respect!!..."

Production Designer: "The Game" Season 7
Guy Tuttle
Lance is flat out one one of the best decorators I know. His depth of understanding of how to decorate to character and not just his own style is a great asset, as well as his understanding of the layers needed to make a set look right. He manages a department well and can really get the job done. I would always make him one of my first choices if available.
